Pike-Lincoln Technical Center Practical Nursing Class of 2016 Graduates

The 2016 Practical Nursing class from Pike-Lincoln Technical Center (PLTC) in Eolia, MO held their 42nd graduation ceremony at Pike-Lincoln Technical Center on Thursday, August 11 at 7:00 pm. A video presentation of the year’s highlights was played prior to the ceremony. The program began with the graduate processional to “Time of your Life” by Green Day. The welcome was given by Andy Jolly, Assistant Director of Pike-Lincoln Technical Center. Tabitha Witherington, Vice-President of the Pike-Lincoln Technical Center’s Student Nursing Organization, lead the evenings ceremony with the Nurse’s Prayer.  The speaker for the evening ceremony was Payton Creech, peer and President of the 2016 PLTC Practical Nursing Student Nursing Organization.

2016 Graduation ceremonies were held at Pike-Lincoln Technical Center on Thursday, August 11. Several Awards were presented including:

  • Perfect Attendance: Tabitha Witherington was the recipient of this award. This award ispresented to the student who has been present all 1490 hours of the Practical Nursing program. This award is sponsored by Pike-Lincoln Technical Center’s Practical Nursing Alumni.
  • Leadership Award: Payton Creech was the recipient of this award. This award is given for their leadership, and overall performance, academically and clinically throughout this past school year. This award is sponsored by Pike-Lincoln Technical Center’s Practical Nursing Alumni.
  • Clinical Achievement Awards:

o   Pike County Memorial Hospital Clinical Excellence Award: Payton Creech was the recipient of this award. This award was sponsored by Mrs. Carley Lovell and was one of the first to receive this award. This award is sponsored by Pike-Lincoln Technical Center’s Practical Nursing Alumni.

o   Mercy Hospital Lincoln Clinical Excellence Award: Taylor Davis was the recipient of this award. This award is sponsored by the Pike-Lincoln Technical Center’s Practical Nursing Alumni.

o   St. Mary’s Hospital – Audrain Clinical Excellence Award: Emily Stefani was the recipient of this award. This award is sponsored by St. Mary’s Hospital – Audrain. Pam Tipton, Clinical Educator at St. Mary’s Hospital – Audrain was the presenter.

  • Academic Achievement Awards for 2015-16 Practical Nursing Program:

o   3rd ranking student: Tabitha Witherington, sponsored by Pike-Lincoln Technical Center Practical Nursing Alumni.

o   Salutatorian: Taylor Davis, sponsored by Pike County Memorial Hospital. Presenting the award was Judy Prater, Director of Nursing, Pike County Memorial Hospital in Louisiana, MO.

o   Valedictorian: Traci Reinkemeyer, sponsored by Pike-Lincoln Technical Center Practical Nursing Alumni.

 

Certificates and maroon tipped carnations were presented by the Practical Nursing Instructors, Michelle Booth, RN and Jessica Reinhardt, RN. Pinning, of graduates, was done by Debbie Housman, Practical Nursing Coordinator. Sophie Sachs, 2016 Practical Nursing Student Nursing Organization’s Secretary led the nurses in the audience and podium with reciting of the Nurses Pledge as an affirmation or reaffirmation of their commitment to nursing. The students shared their slide presentation of their memories through this year with the audience. Closing remarks for the 2016 graduation ceremony came from Mr. Martin Hanley, Director of Pike-Lincoln Technical Center which was followed by the graduates’ recessional to “Brave” by Sara Bareilles .
