In April 2008 the patrons of the Pike Co. R-III school district
approved a “no-tax increase” bond issue. Half of the
$5 million dollars approved was for a new building on the Pike-Lincoln
Tech Center campus in Eolia. This new, 14,000 square foot building
will include space for a new, state-of-the-art Diesel Technology
shop and classroom as well as an expanded and enhanced area for
our Auto Services shop and classroom.
Ground was broken on the building, which is located between the
current Pike- Lincoln Tech building and the Water District’s
tower, in March of 2009. Work progressed throughout the rainy
spring and summer of '09. The district officially took possession
of the building in mid-November of 2009. The paving of the area
around the building and finishing touches were completed in June
2010. Below are a few photos taken throughout the construction
process (March – August 23, 2010).
Everyone associated with Pike-Lincoln Tech Center would like
to thank the patrons of the district for their support. It is
allowing us to provide training for many more students from Pike
and Lincoln counties. Our Diesel Technology program is filled
to overflowing!
